Our general detailing process is priced at $100 an hour.  Other specialized services like headlight restoration or wheel repair are priced specifically (ie: per pair of lights or per wheel).  For general detailing, we will estimate a time to complete your work prior to booking so you will know the complete costs ahead of time.  If we exceed our time estimate for some reason we will NOT adjust the costs from our original estimate.

Our general detailing for your car exterior OR interior will take between 1 and 2 hours.

 

For exteriors this will include:

• Wash the exterior
• Clean and detail the wheels
• Surface and trim coating
• Clean glass inside and out
• Clean and apply dressing to tires
• Clean and wax door jams

For interiors we will

• Complete interior vacuum
• Shampoo floor mats
• Clean and protect seats
• Remove and clean debris from all surfaces, joints and crevices
• Clean glass inside and out

Extra processes would increase the time required to complete the work. These would include:

• Exterior Chemical and Physical decontamination
• Clear coat sealing
• Paint correction
• ‘Ceramic’ exterior coatings
• Specialized top coatings
• Engine compartment detailing
• Interior cleaning that require deep steam or shampoo treatments

Our attention to protecting the environment is apparent in our our approach to conserving water and in our choices of cleaning and detailing products.

Water Conservation

Although we do bring a full power washing capability with us to your site we will often choose not to use it and instead make use of our ‘rinseless wash’ process.  Aside from not requiring us to setup our generator, this process uses *much* less water than power washing and also results in very little run-off with any water on the ground cleaned up through simple evaporation.

Environmentally Friendly Products

We spend a significant amount of time testing products from the industry searching for those that meet our performance requirements but which also have environmentally sensitive features and ingredients.  For instance our tire dressing is water based and contains no silicone or oil based ingredients.  Our choice of bug and tar remover is a powerful citrus based cleaner with very low VOC (volatile organic compound) content.  The clay bar we use is made from naturally occurring mud (believe it or not).

Auto detailing is an important part of the regular maintenance program for your vehicle.  The process covers a wide variety of techniques and products which, to get the best results, require skill to apply properly.  Although the processes will not prevent your car from collecting dust or becoming dirty through it’s regular usage patterns, what it will do is make it much easier to clean.  The detailing process creates a smooth layer of protection on the exterior and interior surfaces of the vehicle which dirt and other contaminates will not adhere to as strongly as bare clearcoat, leather or fabric.  With nothing to grab onto, the contaminates become much easier to wash away and remove during subsequent maintenance.

If we are to work on the interior of your vehicle, please remove all valuables and all personal items from any storage areas such as the glove box and the trunk or rear cargo area.

Please also have the keys ready for us when we arrive.  Even if we are only working on the exterior we will need to open the hood and doors to get access to concealed areas of the exterior (hood, door jams, etc)

As a mobile operation most of our work is done outdoors.  Adverse weather conditions will unfortunately affect our ability to perform our services.  Many of the products that we use cannot be applied in cold temperatures (below 40F / 5C) or in rainy weather.  We will do our best to work around the outdoor conditions but in the event that we think the weather outlook will prevent us from working during your time slot we will reach out to you as far ahead of time as possible to make other arrangements.

Our mobile capability gives us the flexibility to bring our services to almost any location accessible by car.  We can work at any time of day and bring lighting equipment to assist with work that needs to be done at night.  If you are organizing a photo or movie shoot that requires vehicles to be cleaned and shined please send us your requirements in the contact form below.  It’s likely that we can meet them.

Aboslutely not. Interior and Exterior detailing will improve the look and feel of any auto regardless of make, model or age.  Some of our services, headlight restoration for instance, are real safety improvements.  We believe there is art and style in every vehicle on the road.  Our processes are designed to enhance and bring those qualities out to their full potential.

We do not accept tips for anything.  We follow a Japanese cultural concept which is referred to as ‘Omotenashi’ (おもてなし).  This is the belief that services are to be performed above and beyond the expectations of the customer with no expectation on our part for anything additional in return.  We believe that our services are fairly priced for the skill and the attention to detail that we provide.  Where we do deviate from the concepts of Omotenashi is in our flexibility of service.  It is hard to explain, but a subtle part of the Omotenashi tradition is that the ‘menu’ will never be deviated from (try asking to ‘hold the onions’, or for a packet of sugar with your tea in any Tokyo restaurant and you will quickly see what that means).  Instead we pride ourselves in listening to your requirements or any special needs that you, as the customer, might have.  Every detailing situation is unique and we do our best to meet your specific needs.
